Experience

Years of work where productions shoot

Lausof is a family-owned transport and logistics company based in Salta. For years we have worked in the areas productions choose as locations: the Salinas Grandes salt flats, the Quebrada del Toro, San Antonio de los Cobres, the Cuesta del Obispo and the Valles Calchaquíes. On those routes we move people, freight and equipment over gravel and above 4,000 m (13,000 ft).

A shoot at a remote location has the same problems as any operation in the Puna: distance, altitude, roads that punish vehicles, and lost shooting days that cost a great deal. That is why we work with prepared units, drivers who cover those roads all year, and our own workshop.

Services

What we cover on a shoot

Tell us what your production needs. We quote the same business day (Argentina time).

4x4 pickups for gravel and altitude

4x4 double-cab pickups for productions: scouting, unit moves during the shoot, and the stretches where an ordinary vehicle cannot get through.

  • 4x4 double-cab pickups, with or without a driver
  • Drivers who know the roads of the Puna, the Quebrada and the Valles
  • Satellite phone and Starlink satellite internet on board on high-altitude jobs

Minibuses for crew and cast

Moving the crew between the city, the set and the locations, in 19-seat minibuses with a professional driver.

  • Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibuses, 19 seats plus driver
  • Fixed runs to the set, or one-off transfers
  • Drivers licensed for the vehicle class, with a current medical fitness certificate (psicofísico)

Mechanical support on location

Our own workshop in Salta city, and assistance on the road and on location with our own equipment and our own people, so a breakdown does not stop the shooting schedule.

  • Mechanics from our own workshop
  • Flatbed tow truck to move and recover vehicles
  • A replacement unit so the shoot keeps going

Equipment, picture vehicles and catering

Production equipment, picture vehicles, and the cold chain for the catering.

  • Truck with a hydraulic flatbed for equipment and picture vehicles, up to a 7.5-ton payload
  • Refrigerated truck for catering and perishables on location
  • A warehouse of about 3,000 m² (32,000 sq ft) in Salta city to hold the equipment
  • Remito (Argentine goods-in-transit note) and Factura A

Locations

We know the locations and the roads that lead to them

We have been driving those roads for years: we know how they get in winter, where the signal drops, and what a unit has to carry to come back on schedule.

We also work to the shooting requirements of the province: a written estimate and contract, Factura A, and a voucher for every service, ready for the production to account for each movement. The province's rebate program for audiovisual productions counts ground transport only when the provider is based in Salta, as we are. Ask us about the terms in force when you plan the shoot.

Frequently asked questions

What productions ask before we quote

Do you reach locations with no road?

We reach gravel, sand, salt-flat and high-altitude locations with 4x4 pickups and drivers who know the terrain. If a location calls for something out of the ordinary, send us the exact point and we will look at it.

Do you give mechanical support on location?

Yes. We bring what it takes to solve it on the spot: our own mechanics, a welder, a generator and a flatbed tow truck. If a unit cannot be repaired, the replacement unit takes over.

How is a shoot quoted?

Email us or send a WhatsApp message with the dates, the locations and what has to move. We quote by day, by week or as a shoot package, all of it in a single price, and we answer the same business day.

Do the drivers speak English?

Our drivers work in Spanish. An English-speaking driver can be arranged on request, subject to availability, so ask for one when you write. Messages in English are answered in English by email or WhatsApp.

How do you invoice a production?

Our legal name is Lausof S.R.L., CUIT (tax ID) 30-71146774-9, and we issue Factura A, the Argentine tax invoice. Every service goes out with its remito and its voucher, against a written estimate and contract.

Are you putting a shoot together in Salta?

Send us the dates, the locations and what has to move, and we will come back with a quote the same business day.
